A blank sheet of paper is the worst, right?
You sit down to write and. . .
Yeah, we know the feeling. Jenny, Katie, Heather, Vi all spend our entire days writing for GOW and for clients.
Here’s a way we make it easier to get going AND to make sure we’re hitting essential points:
TEXT BLOCKS
We identify key text blocks for each document we write. Here’s what text blocks for a weekly garden center email would look like:
- Main image + big topic of the week (Upcoming event, new plants, etc.)
- Promo of the week (What’s on sale?)
- Tip of the week (Teach how to do something such as pruning a spring-blooming shrub)
- Funny gardening meme
- Customer spotlight
Now, we won’t necessarily TITLE each section of the newsletter that way, but that’s our list of paragraphs we need to write for the newsletter.
Much easier than starting from scratch each time, yeah?
If you have a piece of content you write frequently, jot down some text blocks that you can complete each time. It’ll save you lots of time and headache!
