Jenny does a lot of things at The Garden of Words. She does social media, writes blog posts, creates graphics, and pens email content. Her tip for today? Don’t stress out about trying to make something perfect!
We pride ourselves with putting out really excellent content. We want it to be the best it can be. But we don’t wring our hands trying to be perfect. Striving for perfection is the killer of creativity, so our goal is to get it about 75-80% great, and then it goes out the door.
We have processes in place to make sure copy is proofread and all the settings in an email are how they need to be. Do we make mistakes? Sometimes! Is it the end of the world? Not even close.
Listen, perfection does not exist. IT DOESN’T. So striving for it is a waste of time and energy, and while you’re striving to achieve something you can’t, guess what happens? Your audience misses out.
