Today’s a shortie. (BRB with regular emails the week after next. I already have a story!)
Dad and I were planting bulbs for my sister last weekend.
“If I were doing this myself, it would have taken 2 hours,” he said. “And I would still be sure that I did it wrong.”
It took us 20 minutes.
I dug 23 holes, ripped open the bags with the bulbs, dropped the bulbs in where I wanted them, and he raked the soil over them.
Unless the squirrels eat them, it will be beautiful in the spring.
I’m sure of it.
$5K in 5 minutes
It reminds me of the story about a mechanic called to fix something on an expensive piece of equipment.
He walked up to the combine or tractor or potting machine or bagger, took a look and flipped a few switches.
The machine roared to life.
“That’ll be $5,000,” he said.
“But, bbbbbuuuuut it just took you 5 minutes!” said the machine owner.
“Sure did. $50 is for the 5 minutes. $4,950 is for my 40 years of experience.”
30×4 is not the same as 120
You can pay someone who knows nothing about email $30/hour to spend 4 hours making one that might or might not do the job.
Or you can pay someone who is an expert at email $120/hour for one hour to make an email that will far exceed your goals.
How do you know whether the $120/hour person is worth it?
One way is to learn a little about how they do their job.
In this case, Free is actually worth something.
Wednesday, November 1 at 12pm Eastern, I’m giving a free fall lunch and learn, or breakfast and learn, or midnight snack and learn all about SUPERCHARGING email marketing.
We’ll be going through all kind of tips and info for taking an email program from sorta functional to amazingly effective.
Why do I do this for free?
Because I can. (And almost nothing pleases me more than teaching people how to make email marketing great. I mean for reals. I love it.
There’s no sales pitch.
If you want our help, email us! katie@thegardenofwords.com. Or pick out a Discovery Call time here.
If you sign up and want to start supercharging right away, send me 2-3 of your recent marketing emails or newsletters and I’ll review them LIVE ON THE CALL!
It’s call the “hot seat” and it’s my favorite part!
Forward those to: katie@thegardenofwords.com.
I TOLD YOU THIS ONE WAS A SHORTIE!
If you know someone who could benefit from pulling up a chair on Wednesday and learning about email marketing, please forward them this email.
Otherwise, check out my sketches from my recent Indiana/Cape Cod/Indiana trip.
