Business Development for the Green Industry

Welcome to the super secret clubhouse of services provided by The Garden of Words. (The “secret garden,” if you will.) We don’t talk a whole lot about these services because we have very limited availability to provide them.

Why? Because they involve one or more GOW experts to roll up their sleeves and dig in to the nitty gritty details of running of your business and we can’t each be in six places at one time!

Business Development for the Green Industry

What is it? “Business Development” is a pretty vague term. We use it to describe the following services:

  • Writing customized SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure documents) and processes for green industry businesses.
  • Creating DRPs (Disaster Recovery Plans) for ecommerce websites.
  • Assisting with hiring and training tech providers such as web developers or paid media specialists for the green industry.
  • Assisting with hiring and training virtual assistants and admin support.
  • Marketing strategy & planning.
  • Consulting on all of the above!
  • “Pick your brain” hour consulting calls.

Who can benefit? Any sole proprietor or small business that needs to streamline operations so that the owner or key staff don’t feel like they’re drowning 24/7/365. These services are also helpful for businesses that have between 5-15 staff members without clear organizational direction. If you’ve every heard yourself saying, “Well that’s Jake’s job, but he never does it!” we can help.

How much does it cost? These services are billed at $200/hour. We work in retainer blocks of $1000 at a time, with each block purchasing 5 hours of time.

One-Hour “Pick My Brain” Sessions

If you really do just want to pick Katie Elzer-Peters’ brain about anything marketing, ecommerce, paid media, email marketing, SEO, writing, etc. for any reason, those are available as time permits for $275 paid at the time of scheduling. Katie will bring along one of her most relevant staff members for the call, which will be recorded. You’ll receive the recording and meeting notes after the call.

This service is limited and often books out 6 weeks in advance. Sessions are non-refundable and may be rescheduled one time in the event of an emergency.

"Asking" is not a four letter word, but many people have been raised to believe it is.

Instead of lots of "how to" tips this week, we're sharing quotes, sayings, and info that shaped our thinking so far in 2022.
🌱
This entire quote is, "The truth has legs; it always stands. When everything else in the room has blown up or dissolved away, the only thing left standing will always be the truth. Since that’s where you’re gonna end up anyway, you might as well just start there.”
🌱
If I (Katie) were to choose one quote to sum up the first part of the year, it's this one. Does it resonate with you? What would you do differently if you started from what you know to be true about your business our yourself?

One of Katie's favorite quotes is "Survival is insufficient." It's from Star Trek Voyager S6E2, but is also famous for being the epigraph in Emily St. John Mandel, book "Station Eleven." The Traveling Symphony, the performing group the book centers around, adopts it as their motto in a post apocalyptic world.
